The Arctic Institute
Infographic Design
In 2017, through volunteer matching platform Catchafire, I was chosen to assist with an infographic design project for The Arctic Institute about climate-induced relocation. The project was a perfect fit given my combination of design skills, data comprehension ability and personal interest in environmental conservation.
The challenge was not only to design the infographic, but to parse through all of the reports and documents provided in order to identify the most important points and takeaways. I was given much creative freedom from a design-perspective, and aimed to convey the text-heavy information using both icons and words, along with a hierarchy of fonts, font size and color.

"Emily went above and beyond our expectations for our infographic on climate change relocation in the Arctic. She made the information come to life through her insightful and innovative design and layout ideas and implementation. She was timely, listened to our needs, and was a very responsive designer. I would highly recommend Emily to any nonprofit or other organization looking to highlight their work through a sleek and aesthetically pleasing printed/online graphic project!"
